“One way to remember who you are is to remember who your heroes are.”
This quote hit home for me because in today’s society a majority of people’s goal is to either fit in or be unique (self made). This always struck me as somewhat odd because everyone is different so you can’t necessarily fit in, and you model some aspects of yourself of others (I.e. your parents or people you look up to) so, you can’t be completely self made either. This connects to the quote because who you categorize as your heroes are the individuals you aspire to be like and who have shaped who you are or want to become. You will be different from them of course and will vary in many aspects, but the core of what you believe will be made up of a mix of your own/their beliefs. Your heroes serve as a guide or roadmap to what you may need to become the person you’ve always wanted to be. Don’t be ashamed to say you were helped or looked elsewhere for inspiration when you become successful!
